Date: 21-Oct-2024 | Category: News & Updates
Dubai continues to shine as one of the best places to live in the Middle East and Africa. The 2024 Global Livability Index by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) ranks 173 cities worldwide based on five key factors: stability, healthcare, culture, environment and education. Dubai stands out for its progress in healthcare, culture, environment and education, showcasing its commitment to improving residents’ lives.
A Safe Haven -5 th Safest City Globally
One of the standout features of Dubai is its safety. According to Numbeo’s crime and safety indexes, Dubai ranks fifth globally among the safest cities in the world. This high safety rating is complemented by excellent healthcare services. As of early 2024, the Dubai Health Authority reports 5,020 licensed healthcare facilities and 13,370 licensed doctors. This growth demonstrates Dubai’s dedication to top-notch medical care.
220+ Private Schools
In the realm of education, Dubai also excels. For the 2023-2024 academic year, the city boasts 220 private schools, showcasing its commitment to providing high-quality education for its residents. The index highlights that Dubai, along with other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) cities, is gaining influence. Eight of the top ten cities in the region are in the Gulf, including Kuwait City, Doha and Bahrain. This trend emphasizes the stability and rising importance of GCC countries on the global stage.
Global Recognition - 78th
Dubai’s global ranking has improved, moving up two spots to 78th worldwide with a score of 80.0 out of 100. Recently, Dubai and Abu Dhabi were named among the top five destinations for professionals to relocate, according to a report by the Boston Consulting Group. People often choose these cities based on job opportunities, quality of life, and income prospects.
UAE's Quality of Life: 10th Globally
According to the Expat Insider report by Internations, the UAE ranked 10th globally due to its high quality of life and numerous job opportunities. The UAE shines in three key areas: third for quality of life, sixth for working abroad and first for expat essentials. In January, Resonance Consultancy named Dubai the top city in the region and fifth globally based on prosperity, safety, landmarks and outdoor activities. These accolades show that Dubai is not only a top place to work but also an excellent place to live.
With its focus on safety, healthcare, education and overall quality of life, Dubai continues to be a premier choice for residents and expatriates alike. The city’s continuous enhancement and global recognition only add to its appeal as a top destination in the Middle East and Africa.
